Job summary

PSG Traffic Services, part of the Helix Traffic Solutions network, seeks a Traffic Control Apprentice to help keep work zones safe and traffic moving. You will maintain traffic flow around construction areas, set up and remove temporary controls, and follow all safety guidelines.

No prior experience required; training will be provided and opportunities exist for advancement. Based in the Carolinas, the role involves outdoor work, exposure to traffic, and travel to different sites.

• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic around work zones using handheld signs, paddles, or flags.
• Set up, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control work zones including signs, barricades, and cones according to project requirements and regulations.
• Communicate clearly with drivers to provide guidance and ensure safe traffic flow.
• Monitor traffic and construction activity to anticipate and respond to potential safety hazards.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other team members using hand signals, radios, or other communication equipment.
