Job summary

DRW is seeking a Trading Systems Engineer for Global Options in Chicago. You will join a global team supporting production trading systems across equities and options, focusing on reliability, deployment automation, and proactive monitoring.

This role requires strong troubleshooting, on-call flexibility, and collaboration with traders, DBAs, and developers. You will engage with multiple asset classes and geographies in a Linux/Windows environment, develop automation, and communicate clearly with

Qualifications

• Must have strong troubleshooting skills for non-runbook issues.
• Experience supporting high performance trading systems and monitoring.
• Experience with equities/equity options trading.
• Knowledge of FIX protocol and alternative exchange protocols.
• Experience with electronic trading systems; prior prop trading firm experience preferred.
• Strong networking knowledge and multicast understanding.
• Willingness for rotating on-call coverage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to convey context quickly.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to ensure best-in-class production support, deployment, configuration, and monitoring.
• Maintain maximum trading system availability to capture opportunities.
• Support production systems across asset classes and geographies in a multi-platform Linux/Windows environment.
• Develop and leverage automation and monitoring tools, integrate third-party technologies as needed.
• Troubleshoot production incidents caused by internal software or external markets/data feeds.
• Automate configuration and rollout procedures to reduce manual errors and improve change control.
• Coordinate with exchanges on trade activity, connectivity, and related issues.
• Collaborate with traders, DBAs, developers, QA, infra, and support teams globally.
• Help end users and developers understand core trading and back-office systems.
• Build documentation for procedures, troubleshooting, and system architecture.
• Coordinate with global teams to maintain 24x7 continuity.
