Team / Division Overview

The Chief Operating Office (COO) is a key enabler for DWS and is integral to the future success of the company by delivering world-class services across a set of key functions. It covers essential Technology and Operations capabilities, aiming to deliver a platform which is efficient, scalable, resilient and agile.

Trading Application Support, work closely with all Traders to support with their setup, trading issues and application support for the DWS Trading business. As part of the Technology Trade and Product department, the team act as a natural interface between the Trading business and other internal/external application support teams, and cover all technical communication between DWS and the external providers regarding third-party applications.

Role Details

As part of Trading Application Support you will be responsible for:

  • Providing onsite support to the trading team and associated applications of varying complexities and technical scope.

  • Acting as a hands-on technician, performing tasks related to trading services such as user set-up and order routing, owning the incident, problem and knowledge management processes at the operational, functional, and technical level.

  • Analysing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner in relation to Trading application support to ensure stable set-up and best execution.

  • Performing daily pro-active health checks of the environment, taking preventative measures, and automating these checks where possible.

  • Coordinating and communicating between multiple technology stakeholders (Vendors, Infra Support, DBAs and the Dev teams) and functional Trading stakeholders during tactical and strategic issue remediation.

  • Supporting the Service Readiness framework and on-boarding new applications into production where required.

  • Managing service level adherence of supported applications.

  • Identifying Service Improvement opportunities and presenting well-developed ideas to management.

We are looking for:

  • Proven experience supporting a trading environment with knowledge of the full trade life-cycle and processes across asset classes such as FX, Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives.

  • Proven experience of working across Front Office environments in financial services and delivering effective change and release management.

  • Excellent experience of communication and collaboration with front office business stakeholders and related service providers.

  • Ability to work as part of a global team and collaborate to resolve complex technical solutions.

  • Basic understanding of database languages such as VBA, SQL, Oracle would be beneficial.

  • Educated to degree level in a related discipline or with relevant professional work experience.

The salary range for this position in New York is $89,000 to $146,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
