Job summary

Citi Belfast is seeking a Desk Assistant - Trading to support front-office trading operations, bridging traders, technology and operations. You will focus on improving workflows, reducing manual tasks, and enabling AI-driven automation across the desk.

The role requires experience in trade support, strong Excel (VBA) skills, and familiarity with trade booking platforms. A hybrid working pattern applies, with additional benefits and career growth opportunities at Citi Belfast.

Qualifications

• Experience in trade support, middle office, or trading assistant roles within a global investment bank or financial institution.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VBA).
• Familiarity with trade booking platforms and workflow systems.
• Experience with Python or SQL for automation and data analysis is desirable.
• Solid understanding of the trade lifecycle across asset classes (OTC/listed derivatives, structured notes, cash equities).

Responsibilities

• Execute accurate booking of trades across multiple products, transitioning from trader to your name.
• Drive process improvements using AI-driven solutions and workflow automation.
• Manage trade lifecycle events including amendments and confirmations with accuracy and compliance.
• Respond to exceptions, breaks, and adjustments with stakeholders across teams.
• Collaborate with technology, risk, and operations to test system enhancements and migrations.
