Job summary

SCS Financial is seeking a Trading Associate in Portsmouth, NH to join our team in a trade execution and operational support role. You will work with the Trading team to execute trades across client accounts, monitor workflows, and assist with cash management, rebalancing, and follow-up activities.

The role emphasizes hands-on trading, operational support, and collaboration with custodians and brokers, with opportunities to contribute to automation initiatives using Python, VBA, and Power

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, or a related discipline preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in financial services, investment operations, trading support, or a related role preferred; entry-level candidates may be considered.
• Interest in trading, portfolio operations, financial markets, and investment management.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to work accurately with financial data.
• Working knowledge of Python; experience with VBA or Power Automate is a plus.
• Experience with equity, mutual fund, or fixed income trading and familiarity with Fidelity Institutional or Charles Schwab Institutional is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute trades across client accounts and custodial platforms, including equities, mutual funds, and other approved investment vehicles.
• Monitor daily trading workflows, queues and task lists for timely and accurate trading activity.
• Research and help resolve trade, position, and cash breaks with Trading, Operations, Advisors, custodians, and brokers.
• Maintain client accounts within rebalancing software, including setup, target updates, and running rebalancing tools.
• Support portfolio maintenance activities, including rebalancing, cash reviews, tax-loss harvesting, and portfolio reviews.
• Review cash balances, contributions, distributions, pending cash needs, and coordinate with advisory/operations teams.
• Use trading and CRM platforms (RedBlack, Salesforce) to support daily trading and portfolio management.
• Adhere to trading procedures, compliance requirements, and operating practices.
• Complete ad hoc assignments accurately and on time with stakeholder updates.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions for the trading team using Python, VBA, and/or Power Automate.
