Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support construction, refresh efforts, and routine maintenance across the health system. You will perform painting, drywall, flooring, and related tasks under supervision, ensuring safe, efficient operations.

The role includes coordinating with trades, documenting work, and following applicable safety and infection-control procedures. A Michigan driver’s license and minimal experience are required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of relevant facilities maintenance experience.
• Driver's license in Michigan (LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI).

Responsibilities

• Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, leads, and other trades to ensure quality, timely, cost-effective construction and continuity of services.
• Perform preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and services on building features using relevant tools and equipment.
• Document procedures and work completed accurately; keep areas clean, safe, and organized.
• Assist with specialty systems construction, repair, and site preparation; review blueprints for needs or problems and coordinate with engineers/designers.
• Ensure all services comply with legal specs, codes, and policies.
• Plan and coordinate workflow with other trades and act as a resource for building systems.
• Follow ICRA/PCRA procedures as outlined by Epidemiology.

Job Summary

Provides a safe and aesthetically pleasing work environment throughout the healthcare system under the direction of a supervisor. Mostly involved with facilities construction, and refresh efforts, including painting, drywall repair, flooring etc. Work will typically be performed under guidance from Sr and lead tradespersons. Performs a variety of duties involved in construction, equipment and materials. Tasks may also include warehouse inventory, stocking, receiving, delivering and other similar functions for team needs.

Essential Functions

• Communicates and collaborates with the supervisors, tradesperson leads, and other construction trades and sub-contractors to ensure quality, timely, cost-effective construction with continuity and coordination of services.
• Performs comprehensive preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and services on various types of general building features. Uses various tools and measuring equipment related to the specific area of specialty to perform calculations and measurements to determine proper functions.
• Documents procedures and work completed in an accurate and timely manner. Ensures proper care, maintenance and safe use of equipment and supplies and keeps work areas orderly, clean, and safe.
• Performs work in specific area of specialty, including repair and replacement, layout, demolition, and construction of all types of specialty systems and equipment which could include estimating, ordering, and preparing sites for construction, installation, replacement and/or repair. Reviews project blueprints to identify any special needs, revisions or problems and communicate with the appropriate engineer/designer.
• Ensures that all services are provided in accordance with legal specifications, codes, organizational policy, and compliance requirements.
• Plans and coordinates workflow with other trades and acts as resource related to building systems.
• Follow ICRA/PCRA procedures outlined by Epidemiology.

• ICRA certification within 6 months of hire.
