The Trades Manager is responsible for overseeing applicable budgets, possessing a full working knowledge of operations, and typically reports to a Division Director.

Job Description

The incumbent oversees the daily operations of the section, including long range planning, coordinating repairs, assisting with the division budget, conducting inspections to determine problems and needed repairs for equipment; and assisting in determining policies and procedures for the division.

Essential Duties
  • Supervises staff by prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff are trained, ensuring employees follow policies and procedures, maintaining a healthy and safe working environment, and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Supports budget planning and resource allocation
  • Maintains accurate records related to operations, maintenance, inspections, and repairs
  • Identifies problems and needed repairs
  • Ensures proper operations at facilities
  • Supports facilities-related work using construction principles
  • Manages the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of equipment, materials, and components
  • Maintains the appropriate levels of supplies, parts, tools, and materials
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • Public safety background investigation, including criminal history, motor vehicle records, and fingerprinting
  • On-call rotation and after-hours response, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Grade

The grade for this position is C43(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.; AND
  • Eight years of related work experience, including three years of supervisory experience; OR
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.

  • Valid Driver's License from State of Residency
