  • Leads and coordinates small- and large-scale Public Safety technology projects, system implementations, upgrades, and related initiatives.
  • Manages employee workloads, schedules, performance evaluations, training, professional development, and other supervisory responsibilities.
  • Develops, maintains, and coordinates inter-agency and agency technology agreements related to system access, data sharing, support responsibilities, and technology services.
  • Develops and maintains technical documentation for Public Safety system integrations, data exchanges, workflows, system dependencies, and vendor interfaces.
  • Ensures Public Safety systems and technology operations comply with CJIS/GCIC requirements, County cybersecurity standards, and other applicable security and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates with Public Safety agencies, IT leadership, vendors, and technical teams to support operations, establish priorities, address technology needs, and resolve technical issues.
  • Coordinates 24/7 on-call support and response for critical Public Safety system outages, incidents, and service disruptions.

Job Description

The IT Systems Supervisor will be responsible for managing daily tickets for support and maintenance of all public safety applications, day-to-day operations for applications, and field support. This position will also, review the team’s daily time activity reporting/workload forecasting, and support and manage critical public safety CAD/RMS environments for public safety.

Essential Duties
  • Supervises Public Safety IT staff and oversees daily team operations, priorities, and service delivery.
  • Oversees the support, administration, availability, and performance of mission-critical Public Safety systems, including CAD, RMS, mobile applications, databases, and related technologies.
  • Oversees service desk activities, incident response, system maintenance, and technical support to ensure timely and effective resolution of operational issues.
  • Leads and coordinates small- and large-scale Public Safety technology projects, system implementations, upgrades, and related initiatives.

Public Speaking Duties
  • Presents Public Safety technology projects, system updates, outages, risks, and recommendations to department leadership, executive management, and stakeholders.
  • Conducts meetings, briefings, training sessions, and technical presentations for Public Safety personnel, IT staff, vendors, and partner agencies.
  • Communicates complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including operational impacts, project status, and recommended solutions.
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job is a civilian position in either a public safety department or in Information Technology with close ties to public safety. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a public safety background which may include motor vehicle & criminal histories, and fingerprinting.
  • This job requires fingerprinting.
  • This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
Grade

The grade for this position is 107.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; AND
  • Seven years of progressively responsible programming and systems experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed above.
  • Skilled in reporting and data visualization, Microsoft Power Apps is a plus
  • Experienced in the development and maintenance of reporting dashboards, preferably Power BI or ESRI
  • Two-year minimum using SQL Management Studio. SSRS or SSIS is a plus.
  • Candidates are required to obtain one or more of the following certifications: GCIC Security and Integrity certification; GCIC Inquiry level workbook certification within six months of hire.
  • Requires 24/7 on-call support (Team weekly rotation)
  • Must be able to work independently with customers, gather requirements and provide analytical or software solutions to a variety of management levels and organizational departments.
  • Valid Driver’s License
