Job summary

DLA Piper's Trademark, Copyright & Media Group in California seeks a junior associate or non-partnership track attorney with at least two years of law firm experience in trademark and copyright litigation and counseling. The ideal candidate will counsel clients on development, protection, commercialization, and enforcement of IP rights and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team.

A nationally recognized law school and prior AmLaw 100 experience are strongly preferred; JD required; bar

Qualifications

• JD required and bar admission to practice in California or able to obtain.
• At least two years of trademark and copyright counseling and litigation experience.
• Background from a nationally recognized law school and prior AmLaw 100 firm preferred.
• Licensed to practice in the state where office is located.

Responsibilities

• Legal Research: conduct thorough and comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case/transaction preparation and strategy.
• Legal Writing: draft well-written, error free, and reasoned legal documents, including briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
• Case/Transaction Management: assist/manage a variety of complex cases/transactions from inception to resolution including trials, negotiations, settlements, closings.
• Internal/External Client Interaction: build, maintain, and cultivate strong client relationships by providing updates, advice, and addressing concerns.
• Collaboration: work with other lawyers to develop innovative strategies for favorable outcomes.
• Attend, support, and participate in high-level legal activities including court hearings, depositions, negotiations, trials.
• Compliance & Development: stay abreast of legal standards and participate in ongoing training and leadership skills.
