Job summary

Fish & Richardson P.C. invites applications for a trademark and copyright associate to join our national IP practice in New York, with opportunities to collaborate across offices in Boston, San Diego, Silicon Valley, or Washington, D.C.

The successful candidate will work with top attorneys on prosecution, enforcement, and licensing strategies, and contribute to a collaborative, client-focused environment. You will have 2–4 years of U.S.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years U.S. and foreign trademark counseling, clearance, and prosecution experience.
• Experience handling cease and desist letters and enforcement matters, including domain name disputes, UDRP actions, TTAB proceedings.
• Experience in copyright law.
• Active membership in the state bar and CLE compliance.
• Superior writing skills and excellent academic credentials.
• Analytical mindset for detailed legal analysis.
• Strong communication with diverse clients, attorneys, and staff.
• Team-oriented and able to contribute to cross-functional IP practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide trademark counseling, clearance, and prosecution support for national and international brands.
• Prepare and respond to cease and desist letters; handle enforcement including domain name disputes, UDRP actions, TTAB proceedings, and social media usage issues.
• Assist with copyright matters and related counseling as part of a multidisciplinary IP practice.
• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to deliver business-minded legal solutions.
