Job summary

Fish & Richardson P.C. seeks an associate in the Silicon Valley area to support trademark counseling, clearance, and prosecution for national and international brands.

You will work with a team of leading IP attorneys to provide strategic, business-minded legal solutions across prosecution, enforcement, and licensing matters. Qualifications

• 2-4 years of U.S. and foreign trademark counseling, clearance, and prosecution experience.
• Experience preparing and responding to cease and desist letters and handling enforcement matters, including domain name disputes, UDRP actions, TTAB proceedings.
• Experience in copyright law.
• Active membership in the state bar and compliance with CLE requirements.
• Superior writing skills and excellent academic credentials.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate with a diverse group of clients and staff.
• Enjoys working in a team-oriented environment and contributing to team relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide trademark counseling, clearance, and prosecution support for national and international brands.
• Prepare and respond to cease and desist letters; handle enforcement matters including domain name disputes, UDRP actions, TTAB proceedings, and social media usage issues.

Who You Are

• You have 2 - 4 years of U.S. and foreign trademark counseling, clearance, and prosecution experience including reviewing clearance searches and preparing substantive responses to PTO office actions.
• You have previous experience preparing and responding to cease and desist letters and handling other enforcement matters, including domain name disputes, UDRP actions, TTAB proceedings, and matters related to the use of trademarks and social media platforms.
• You have experience in copyright law.
• You have an active membership in the state bar and are in compliance with CLE requirements.
• You have superior writing skills and excellent academic credentials.
• You thrive when using your analytical skills to conduct complex and detailed analysis of legal matters.
• You enjoy communicating with a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff.
• You are enthusiastic about working within a team-oriented environment and will contribute to effective team relationships.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is $225,000 - $260,000. The salary offered will depend upon qualifications and experience, and will be adjusted for flex-time schedules.
