Job summary

Astranis seeks a results-driven Trade & Regulatory Compliance Manager to join its legal department in San Francisco, CA. Anchored in U.S.

export controls, the role oversees ITAR/EAR, OFAC, FCPA, and FAR/DFARS, partnering with engineering, supply chain, HR and sales to build scalable compliance frameworks that support growth. You will lead strategy, filings in DECCS and SNAP-R, risk audits, and training while monitoring regulatory changes to keep internal standards current.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years of regulatory compliance experience, with core expertise in U.S. export controls (ITAR/EAR)
• Knowledge of OFAC sanctions, FCPA, FAR/DFARS
• Familiarity with DECCS and SNAP-R filing systems
• Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements for technical and business partners
• Excellent written and oral communication with attention to detail and urgency
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple compliance projects in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy, administration, and enhancement of the company’s trade and regulatory compliance program
• Serve as SME across ITAR, EAR, OFAC, FCPA, and FAR/DFARS
• Classify data and defense-related items against CCL and USML
• Evaluate initiatives to determine regulatory needs and manage export licenses
• Draft and submit filings through government portals (DECCS, SNAP-R)
• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, HR, and sales on regulatory topics
• Support ethics and government contracting compliance aspects
• Lead internal compliance reviews and risk audits; draft disclosures as needed
• Develop and deliver company-wide training on export controls and trade compliance
• Monitor federal laws and update internal standards accordingly
