Application Support & System Reliability Associate

Overview

A leading financial services organization is seeking a Trade Floor Support Engineer to support critical wealth management and trading platforms while driving operational stability, performance improvements, and system reliability initiatives.

This hybrid role combines production application support, system reliability engineering, incident management, and continuous improvement responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, development teams, infrastructure groups, and third-party vendors to maintain highly available systems, enhance observability, and improve the overall user experience across mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

System Reliability & Operational Excellence

• Lead reviews of application health, platform reliability, and operational processes to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Enhance monitoring and observability capabilities through proactive alerting, dashboard development, and performance tracking.
• Define and measure key performance indicators for system availability, reliability, response times, and operational effectiveness.
• Conduct post-incident reviews and drive remediation efforts to prevent recurring issues.
• Partner with technology teams to implement proactive fixes, system hardening initiatives, and operational improvements.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization that reduce manual effort and improve service quality.

Application Production Support

• Provide day‑to‑day support for wealth management, trading, and settlement applications.
• Monitor application performance and system health to ensure stable operations.
• Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate resolution efforts across multiple teams.
• Manage incident response activities, ensuring timely communication and resolution of service disruptions.
• Support release management, deployment activities, and production validation efforts.
• Assist with application enhancements, defect remediation, and operational support initiatives.

Business Continuity & Risk Management

• Coordinate business continuity and disaster recovery testing activities.
• Support operational resilience initiatives and ensure systems meet recovery objectives.
• Document testing results, remediation plans, and audit requirements.
• Participate in change management activities to minimize operational risk during technology deployments.
• Serve as a liaison between business users, technology teams, and external vendors.
• Support user requests related to data inquiries, reporting, workflow configuration, and application functionality.
• Coordinate issue escalation and follow- through with internal and external support teams.
• Maintain strong stakeholder communication during incidents, system changes, and project initiatives.

Testing & Implementation Support

• Participate in system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and production rollout activities.
• Validate application functionality and business requirements prior to deployment.
• Assist with implementation planning and execution for new features and enhancements.
• Ensure operational readiness and support documentation are maintained.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience supporting applications, production systems, or reliability engineering initiatives within financial services environments.
• Experience managing production incidents, troubleshooting issues, and conducting root cause analysis.
• Strong understanding of trading systems, investment platforms, market connectivity, and settlement operations.
• Experience working with application monitoring, alerting, and operational dashboards.
