Job summary

Integr8staff is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist in near Fullerton, CA to administer and strengthen our export/import compliance program on-site. The role requires deep experience with U.S. and international trade regulations, licensing, and cross-border operations.

Responsibilities include overseeing import/export transactions, screening, licensing, and HTS/ECCN analyses, while coordinating with brokers and internal teams. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, international relations, supply chain management, or related field.
  • 5+ years' related work experience in trade compliance or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations (ITAR/EAR) and licensing processes.
  • Experience with USMCA qualification, certification, and origin requirements.
  • Experience managing customs brokers and freight forwarders with compliance oversight.
  • Cross-border U.S./Mexico trade knowledge and logistics exposure.
  • Ability to analyze contracts and PO/SO for trade compliance risk.

  • Review restricted party screening, end-user/end-use reviews, and KYC documentation.
  • Prepare and manage export licenses, permits, and government authorizations.
  • Perform HTS classification, ECCN review, and country of origin analysis.
  • Review international shipping documents and manage brokers/freight forwarders.
  • Support cross-border U.S./Mexico trade activities and Mexico manufacturing.

Job Summary of the Trade Compliance Specialist position

Integr8staff seeks a Trade Compliance Specialist in near Fullerton, CA.

Responsibilities of the Trade Compliance Specialist position
  • Administers and supports the company's export and import compliance program while exercising independent judgment on complex trade compliance matters
  • interprets U.S. and international trade regulations, oversight of import/export transactions, government licensing, trade compliance recordkeeping, cross-functional coordination, mentoring junior personnel, and supporting continuous compliance improvements.
  • Analyze complex import/export transactions for compliance with ITAR, EAR, OFAC, Customs Regulations, FTR, and anti-boycott regulations.
  • Review restricted party screening, end-user/end-use reviews, Know Your Counterparty documentation, and red flag analysis.
  • Prepare, submit, and manage export licenses, permits, ATA Carnets, and other government authorizations.
  • Perform HTS classification, ECCN review, customs valuation, country of origin, and duty analysis.
  • Review and approve international shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, air waybills, etc.
  • Manage customs brokers and freight forwarders, including performance, resolution, and compliance.
  • Support USMCA qualification, certification, and origin requirements.
  • Support cross-border U.S./Mexico trade activities and Mexico manufacturing operations.
  • Analyze contracts, purchase orders, and sales orders for trade compliance risk.
  • Produce reports using ERP/MRP and trade compliance systems.
  • Monitor trade compliance recordkeeping and assist with audits, procedure updates, and regulatory changes.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Trade Compliance Administrators and other team members.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements of the Trade Compliance Specialist position
  • 5+ years' related work experience or equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Experience supporting Mexico manufacturing operations (IMMEX preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, International Relations, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong import compliance experience, including U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and duty analysis .
  • Experience managing customs brokers and freight forwarders, including performance, issue resolution, and compliance oversight.
  • Working knowledge of USMCA, including qualification, certification, and origin requirements
  • Cross-border U.S./Mexico trade experience, including customs procedures and logistics
  • Experience with export licensing under both the ITAR and EAR, including license applications, exemptions/exceptions, and export authorization management
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Shipping, Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations
  • Aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing experience
  • Experience in compliance, logistics, or international trade is preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • 10% travel internationally.
