Job summary

GEODIS in the United States is seeking a Trade Analyst to support U.S. import and trade compliance activities, including classification, post-entry, audits, reconciliation, drawback, and bonds.

You will review entries, documents, and data for CBP requirements and apply HTSUS and regulatory rulings. The role involves research, data gathering, preparing reports, and communicating with clients, brokers, and management.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years experience in customs brokerage, import operations, or trade compliance.
  • Experience in one or more areas: classification, post-entry, audits, reconciliation, drawback, or customs bonds.
  • Knowledge of HTSUS and US CBP regulations/laws.
  • PC literate with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, analyze, and assimilate regulations and technical documents.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships and confidentiality.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

  • Maintains records and supports responses to CBP inquiries and audits.
  • Advises clients, brokers, and stakeholders on regulatory matters.

Your role on the team:
  • Supports U.S. import and trade compliance activities, which may include Classification, Post-Entry, Audits, Reconciliation, Drawback, and Customs Bonds
  • Reviews and analyzes import entries, commercial documentation, and transaction data for compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requirements
  • Applies the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), CBP regulations, rulings, and other applicable trade requirements
  • Performs assigned activities such as product classification, post-entry filings, customs audits, reconciliation, drawback claims, bond management, and risk assessments
  • Identifies and researches discrepancies, compliance risks, and opportunities for duty savings and process improvements
  • Determines applicable Other Government Agency (OGA) requirements, as applicable
  • Gathers, analyzes, and summarizes import and customs data and prepares reports for clients and management
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation and supports responses to CBP inquiries and audits
  • Advises and communicates with clients, customs brokers, internal stakeholders, and government officials regarding trade compliance matters
  • Provides guidance and training on customs regulations and compliance requirements
  • Travels up to 10%
What you need:
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in customs brokerage, import operations, or trade compliance
  • Experience in one or more areas of classification, post-entry, audits, reconciliation, drawback, or customs bonds
  • Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule of US, Knowledge of US Customs and Border Protection laws and regulations
  • US Customs Broker License preferred
  • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read, interpret, analyze, and assimilate regulations and technical documents
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to apply common sense, professional judgment, and technical expertise
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workers
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast pace and high-demanding environment
