Thompson Tractor is seeking a capable Tractor Trailer Driver to transport parts and equipment between customer, vendor, and company locations. You will operate with minimal supervision, load and unload cargo, and ensure proper documentation and safety compliance across DOT regulations.
The role requires high school education, CDL Class A, and mechanical aptitude, with proven experience in hauling equipment and operating heavy vehicles.
The Tractor Trailer Driver is responsible for transporting parts, components, and equipment to and from customer, vendor, and company locations and job sites. Truck Drivers must be able to perform independently under limited supervision. Examples of the types of machinery that the Driver will transport include earthmoving equipment, diesel engines, electric power generators, lift trucks, and allied products. Drivers will also transport palletized loads, hydraulic cylinders, final drives, undercarriage components and tracks, and other items associated with our business. Tractor Trailer Drivers must be able to safely operate and load all types of equipment and safely operate a lift truck in the loading and unloading of cargo. The person in this role will demonstrate initiative, commitment to teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and dedication to finding solutions in an efficient manner. Tractor Trailer Driver will advance in classification as attitude, skill level, and job performance allows.
Work is normally performed in a customer, vendor, or Company shop or on the location of customer job sites. Exposure to physical risk and all weather conditions is associated with this position. Driving for extended periods of time is often required.
