Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Technician II Tractor in Springfield, OH. The role runs Monday–Friday from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM and is not remote.

The position requires at least two years of tractor experience (a Diesel Technology diploma can substitute for one year) and a valid driver’s license with your own hand tools. You will diagnose, repair, and perform DOT inspections, ensuring vehicles are ready for the next driver.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of tractor experience; a Diesel Tech program diploma may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• Valid driver’s license required; provide own hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair transmission, engine, electrical, suspension, driveline, HVAC, brakes and air systems.
• Repair or replace bolt-on body parts such as hoods and cab extenders.
• Perform DOT inspections as outlined in USX guidelines.
• Prepare tractor for next driver through open seat inspections.
• Perform 90 day lease operator inspections.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in timely fashion.
• Use diagnostic equipment and resources.
• Drive trucks in and out of shop before and after repairs.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area daily.
