Job summary

U.S. Xpress in Springfield, OH is seeking Technician II Tractor to maintain and repair fleet including transmissions, engines, electrical, and HVAC systems.

The role runs Monday through Friday, 4pm to 12:30am, with no remote option; compensation ranges from $27.70 to $33.86 per hour, with opportunities for career growth within a leading transportation company. You will diagnose and repair components, perform DOT inspections, complete required forms, and keep tools and work area organized while

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of tractor experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Must provide own hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair transmission, engine, electrical, suspension, and air systems.
• Repair/Replace bolt on body parts such as hoods and cab extenders.
• Perform DOT inspections as outlined in USX guidelines.
• Perform open seat inspections to prepare tractor for next driver.
• Perform 90 day lease operator inspections.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely fashion.
• Capable of using all diagnostic equipment and resources.
• Drive trucks in and out of shop before and after repairs.
• Maintain a clean and productive work area daily.
• Perform basic or minor repairs on brakes, tires, wiring, etc.
• Perform vehicle preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers.
