Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Tractor Mechanic to perform intermediate maintenance and repair on tractors and related equipment under routine supervision.

You will troubleshoot issues, complete fleet maintenance tasks, and ensure units meet company specifications. Overtime, nights, and weekend shifts may be required. The role requires 1–2 years of semi-tractor experience, A/C certification, and a willingness to work outdoors and be part of a team.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and repair or equivalent military/training.
• A/C Certification required; DOT/FHWA inspections experience preferred.
• Basic tools supplied by employee; toolbox purchase program may be available.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate maintenance and repair on tractors and equipment to meet company specs.
• Troubleshoot issues and complete fleet maintenance processes; follow safety procedures.
• Mentor tractor technician trainees and assist with onboarding.
• Follow shop procedures, complete work orders, and adhere to standard repair times.
