Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Tractor Technician to perform intermediate maintenance, service, and repairs on our fleet tractors and equipment.

The role may involve outdoor work, varying shifts including nights and weekends, and overtime, with full-time attendance required. The technician will troubleshoot issues, conduct preventive maintenance, and ensure adherence to company specifications, SRTs, and warranty guidelines while maintaining professional

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with 1-2 years of experience in Semi-Trtractor maintenance and repair and/or training and/or military equivalent experience; willingness to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.
• A/C Certification required; basic tools must be supplied by the employee in most locations; toolbox purchase program available for those without tools.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors, including fuel system, battery, engine, drive train, and transmission.
• Troubleshoot tractor issues; work independently and seek assistance as needed.
• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers.
• Complete service orders and adhere to standard repair times and warranty guidelines.
• Assist with onboarding and mentoring of new Tractor Technician trainees.
• Engage in OE training for repairs as needed.
