Job summary

Egis is seeking an Engineer, Traction Power for our Sacramento, CA office. This role provides technical leadership across design, construction, testing, energization, and handover of traction power and related electrical infrastructure for large transportation projects.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 6+ years in power systems, substations, MV distribution, and utility coordination, and a proven ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and deliver reliable, compliant solutions on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 6+ years of experience in power systems, electrical infrastructure, or related projects.
• Experience delivering electrical systems through design, construction, testing, commissioning, energization, and acceptance.
• Experience with substations, MV distribution, utility interconnections, and SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of power system integration and multidisciplinary delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and provide technical oversight for traction power, MV, and auxiliary systems.
• Support requirements management, technical reviews, and engineering studies across teams.
• Review deliverables, calculations, specifications, equipment selections, and submittals for compliance.
• Coordinate technical interfaces between power, utilities, SCADA, signaling, and facilities.
• Support utility coordination, permitting, interconnection activities, and regulatory documentation.
• Provide engineering support during construction, testing, energization, and handover.
• Participate in system integration, readiness, defect resolution, and turnover of electrical systems.
