Job summary

Ramos Consulting Services, now part of Colliers Engineering & Design, seeks an Inspector for Trackwork to perform field inspection as Owner's Representative on a light rail extension program's trackwork and systems construction contract in Seattle.

You will verify conformity to contract documents, inspect alignment, gauge, turnout installations, and track materials, document daily activities, and report non-conforming work, with on-site, night and weekend responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of inspection or construction experience on trackwork for light rail.
• Knowledge of track construction methods and track geometry.
• Familiar with AREMA standards and transit agency design criteria preferred.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification and rail worker protection training preferred.
• Must be able to work on-site in Seattle full-time, including night and weekend work as required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Understands and verifies Contractor conformance to all contract documents, submittals, RFIs, and applicable codes and design standards for trackwork.
• Inspects on-site trackwork activities according to the approved Staffing Plan, and coordinates with Authority management.
• Inspects and documents track alignment, gauge, cross level, superelevation, rail fastening, and rail welding activities.
• Inspects turnout and crossover assemblies for compliance with tolerances.
• Inspects rail, special trackwork, ties, fasteners, and other track material deliveries for conformance, storage, and protection.
• Observes and documents quality control testing performed by the Contractor.
• Monitors contractor operations for OSHA safety compliance and reports unsafe conditions.
• Completes Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs) documenting work, labor, equipment, materials, and site conditions.
