Job summary

North American Rail Solutions is seeking an entry-level Trackman I to join a crew and contribute to the construction, maintenance, and repair of railroad track systems. This role requires physical stamina, a solid commitment to safety, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather as part of a team.

Responsibilities include installing and maintaining tracks, replacing rail and ties, inspecting track components for wear, and reporting issues to supervisors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience in railroad, heavy construction, or maintenance industries preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, climb, kneel and work in varied outdoor conditions.
• Willingness to travel to various job sites, including weekend and overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain railroad tracks, embankments, and related infrastructure.
• Perform track construction and repair tasks such as replacing rail and ties, adjusting switches, and building track sections.
• Operate manual tools and specialized hydraulic or pneumatic equipment.
• Conduct visual inspections of track components and report safety concerns.
