Job summary

Network Rail Consulting (NRC) seeks a Track Engineering Lead to join our Seattle team, delivering expert track engineering support for our clients in the transportation sector. You will lead a multidisciplinary group, develop standards, and drive asset condition assessments, maintenance improvements, and renewals.

The role offers hybrid working, opportunities to shape delivery on major rail projects, and the chance to mentor engineers while representing NRC with clients.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in Mechanical/Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Affiliation with a relevant membership body or organization.
• Knowledge of technical, safety and performance standards relating to track engineering.
• Demonstrable experience in track maintenance management, processes, and techniques.
• Extensive experience in track engineering, including maintenance.
• Knowledge of asset data management, such as linear asset data systems for track condition analysis and Enterprise Asset Management systems (EAMS) for managing asset information and work management.
• An understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques.
• Ability to work across a multidisciplinary team and establish relationships at all levels.
• Excellent interpersonal, influencing, communication and organization skills.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, industry, and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Track Engineering team in providing specialist advice, input, and support for our client to deliver track engineering activity.
• Lead the development of standards and work instructions for track maintenance.
• Undertake technical investigations including inspections, tests, and analysis of technical data.
• Provide Track related technical support and guidance to the US team and client.
• Owning engineering assurance and verification activities related to track engineering programme’s.
• Conduct investigations into client track failures and reporting on the safety and condition of track assets.
• Provide specialist engineering support capability in relation to maintenance, renewals, and enhancement activity.
• Act as a professional leader, mentoring others to achieve further personal and professional development.
• Writing professional reports, delivering presentations, and representing the NRC brand to all of our clients.
• Build strong client relationships.
• Undertake all activities in a safe environment and in accordance with NRC operating procedures
