TPM Maintenance Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Job summary

Adient plc in Normal, IL is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate daily activities of the maintenance team, ensuring plant machinery and production processes run reliably and safely. You will support preventive programs, supervise interviews and training, assign work, and manage work orders, downtime reports, and TPM initiatives.

This role requires collaboration with Engineering and outside contractors, with a 2nd shift (3pm–12am).

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises employees in the maintenance department in a manufacturing environment.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Interviews, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining Total Productive Maintenance ("TPM").
• Provides 24/7 support to staff and Engineering.
• Partners with and coordinates outside contractors.
• Completes site preparation for new equipment and creates new PMs for new equipment.
• Creates work orders and assign them to technicians.
• Runs downtime reports.
• Engages in safe practices and safety rules, participates in safety meetings and walks.
• Initiates timely investigations of all reported incident/accidents, injuries.
• Timely completion of all 8Ds, listing the "5 whys" and identifying root causes.
