Labcorp is seeking a Toxicology Technologist to join our Halsey Lab team in Portland, Oregon. This role focuses on MMA extraction and testing, with responsibilities including specimen acceptability, instrument troubleshooting, and timely reporting of results to support quality patient care.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Life Science or Medical Technology, or an MLS, with 1+ year of clinical laboratory testing experience, and ASCP/AMT certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science or Medical Technology is required.
  • MLS degree or 1+ year of clinical laboratory testing experience is required.
  • ASCP or AMT certification preferred for Toxicology.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
  • Support ongoing operational tasks: Inventory, ordering, QC/Calibrator lot conversions.
  • Predominantly focusing on MMA extraction and testing.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to SOPs.
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.

LabCorp is seeking a Toxicology Technologist to join our team at the Halsey Lab in Portland, OR.

Job Description
  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
  • support ongoing operational tasks: Inventory, ordering, QC/Calibrator lot conversions
  • Predominantly focusing on MMA extraction and testing
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science, Medical Technology
  • 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASCP or AMT certification
  • 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience in Toxicology
