Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Toxicology Technologist to join the Halsey Lab team in Portland, OR. The role involves MMA extraction and testing, specimen acceptability, and routine to complex procedures in a supportive, quality-driven environment.

Casual/Per Diem work schedule with opportunities to contribute to patient care through accurate reporting and diligent maintenance of instruments and supplies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• 1 year+ experience in Toxicology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine acceptability of specimens for testing per SOPs.
• Support inventory, ordering, QC/calibrator maintenance.
• Focus on MMA extraction and testing.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot instrumentation for proper function.
• Report timely test results for quality patient care.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify testing bench supplies and assist with specimen processing.

LabCorp is seeking a Toxicology Technologist to join our team at the Halsey Lab in Portland, OR.

Work Schedule: Casual/Per Diem

Job Description

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• support ongoing operational tasks: Inventory, ordering, QC/Calibrator lot conversions
• Predominantly focusing on MMA extraction and testing
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science, Medical Technology
• 1 yearor moreof clinical laboratory testing experience OR anMLS degree

Preferred Qualifications

• ASCP or AMT certification
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience in Toxicology
