Job summary

NorthStar Behavioral Health laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform routine tests and maintain equipment in a compliant laboratory setting. You will support clinical and operational needs while ensuring timely results.

The role requires attention to detail, safety adherence, and collaboration with lab and clinical staff, with responsibilities including sample preparation, instrument upkeep, LIS tracking, and quality control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification (can be obtained with employer)
• Previous laboratory experience preferred; training may be provided for entry-level candidates.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety standards, and quality control practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic computer skills and experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, and prepare toxicology samples.
• Perform instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and LC-MS/MS workflows.
• Tracklabworkflow in the LIS to meet turnaround goals.
• Maintain inventory, prepare reagents, and support quality control.
• Ensure compliance with CLIA and CAP standards.
• Communicate with supervisors on workflow, data, and regulatory matters.
