Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biological Science, Chemistry, or related field required; Bachelor's preferred.
• MLT (ASCP), MT/MLS (ASCP), or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum two years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Position Summary:

Coordinated Care Health Solutions, LLC is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist (LC/MS Technician): Chemist-to join our growing laboratory team. This position is responsible for performing a variety of clinical and analytical laboratory procedures that support patient care, medication compliance monitoring, and toxicology testing. The LC/MS Technician will be responsible for processing, preparing, and analyzing toxicology specimens using advanced liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) instrumentation to identify and quantify compounds present in biological samples. The successful candidate will utilize advanced laboratory instrumentation, perform data analysis and quality control, maintain regulatory compliance, and accurately communicate test results to healthcare providers and clinical staff while ensuring the highest standards of laboratory quality and patient care.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, immunology, microbiology, and urine toxicology.
• Prepare and analyze urine and other biological specimens to identify and quantify drug metabolites and other analytes.
• Perform specimen preparation, sample processing, and extraction procedures following established protocols and quality standards.
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and perform quality control testing on laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
• Utilize advanced analytical techniques and instrumentation, including liquid chromatography (LC) and mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), to perform laboratory testing and data analysis.
• Prepare reagents, chemical solutions, controls, and calibrators according to standardized formulas and laboratory procedures.
• Ensure proper specimen collection, handling, chain of custody, integrity, and documentation throughout the testing process.
• Accurately document, interpret, and report test results in a timely manner, including prompt communication of critical or abnormal findings to providers, nursing staff, or other authorized personnel.
• Review and analyze quality control data to ensure accuracy, precision, and reliability of laboratory results.
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and all applicable federal, state, and company regulations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory quality assurance and quality control programs, ensuring adherence to established performance standards.
• Utilize Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for sample tracking, data management, and result reporting.
• Promote a safe laboratory environment through adherence to biological, chemical, and workplace safety procedures.
• Participate in proficiency testing, continuing education activities, and competency assessments as required.
• Maintain laboratory records, workflows, and documentation in an organized and confidential manner.
• Collaborate effectively with laboratory leadership, clinical staff, and team members to ensure efficient laboratory operations and exceptional customer service.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biological Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• MLT (ASCP), MT/MLS (ASCP), or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum two years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience with specimen preparation, laboratory testing, result interpretation, and quality assurance practices.
• Strong working knowledge of CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and laboratory regulatory requirements.
• Experience operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Chemistry and toxicology laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience with LC-MS/MS instrumentation, including Shimadzu and SCIEX platforms, preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with laboratory personnel, providers, and clients.
• Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, customer service, and teamwork.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a climate-controlled laboratory environment.
• Requires prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and performing repetitive laboratory tasks.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
• Must possess adequate visual acuity and hearing necessary for laboratory operations.
