Job summary

Trinity Health MI in Ann Arbor, MI seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the Toxicology team. This full-time, day-shift role involves instrument operation, specimen preparation for analysis, and result reporting within the laboratory information system.

Required is a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science (MLS/MT/MLS/NCLS certification preferred) and the ability to work with urine and blood specimens.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge and some experience in wet chemistry techniques.
• Experience in patient testing using laboratory instruments is desirable but not required.
• Bachelor-level education in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science is required.
• MLS/MT/MLS/NCLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record and/or enter laboratory test results and report highly abnormal results promptly.
• Report test results in a timely manner according to policies and procedures.
• Monitor quality control and calibrate laboratory equipment used in the assigned section.
• Prepare standards, reagents, and other materials used in testing.
• Communicate results and clarify requests with nursing units or client offices.
