Job summary

Trinity Health MI in Ann Arbor is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory professional for the Core Lab. The position runs the evening shift (3:30pm-12am) with a 24-hour work week, offering growth and comprehensive benefits.

Minimum education is a Baccalaureate in Medical Technology or MLS, with MLS/MT certification preferred. A strong emphasis on accuracy, quality control, and timely reporting is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/MLS or related science with transcripts provided.
• Experience in a medical laboratory required if MLS/MT degree not obtained.
• Certification in MT/MLS/MLT (ASCP/NCLS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Record and/or enter lab results and advise supervisor of unusual findings before reporting.
• Report stat results promptly according to policies and procedures.
• Compare current results with previous tests and alert pathologist when needed.
• Perform quality control, calibrate and operate lab equipment.
• Notify staff of issues such as unsuitable specimens or equipment malfunctions.
• Prepare standards and reagents used in testing.
• Communicate results with nursing units or client offices as required.
