Job summary

Trinity Health Oakland in Pontiac, MI is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the Chemistry Lab team in a full-time evening shift. You will perform and review laboratory tests, ensure accuracy, and maintain equipment per policy.

Qualified candidates hold a MLS/MT/ MLS degree, with ASCP or NCLS preferred, and will demonstrate attention to quality control, documentation, and timely reporting. Benefits begin Day One and a comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science or a related science with lab experience.
• Transcripts must be submitted at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Record and/or enter laboratory test results and flag abnormal findings.
• Report stat and abnormal results per policy.
• Compare current results with prior tests and alert supervisor.
• Perform quality control and calibrate laboratory equipment.
• Notify personnel of problems such as specimen issues or equipment faults.
• Prepare standards, reagents, and testing materials.
• Communicate results with nursing units or client offices for clarification.

Education

Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science

Bachelor’s degree in science with relevant lab experience
