Job summary

Labcorp in Burlington, NC invites applications for an Associate Chemist to join the Toxicology team. The role focuses on reviewing LC/MS data, certifying results, and ensuring accuracy from calibration through data entry.

You will maintain and troubleshoot GC, GC-MS, HPLC, and UPLC-MS/MS systems under supervision. Ideal candidates have a chemistry/biological science background and MLS/ASCP-AMT credentials; opportunities exist to grow technical and analytical skills within a collaborative lab

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 2 years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Review and certify LC/MS data from instruments utilizing Analyst and Ascent software.
• Determine if data is acceptable or not and then upload results.
• Verify calibration, quality controls, and patient data up to result entry.
• Maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation; perform routine maintenance on GC, GC-MS, HPLC, and UPLC-MS/MS and other lab equipment.
• Diagnose and repair issues; troubleshoot instrument function changes.
• Provide guidance to technical staff with analysis and interpretation of final results.
• Assist with training and orientation of new employees as needed.
