Job summary

Abbott in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking an Extraction Laboratory Technician II in Toxicology. You will prepare specimens for routine drug testing, follow SOPs, and manage batches for analysis on analytical instruments within a regulated lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related field.
• The ability to work safely with biological specimens, chemicals, equipment, and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow written SOPs.
• Identify specimens scheduled for analysis and assemble batches.
• Pipette biological specimens and standards in varying volumes.
• Prepare and extract analytes for instrumental analysis.
• Load prepared batches onto analytical instruments and run SOPs.
• May create Hamilton batches for aliquots merged from different batches.
• Maintain Chain of Custody documentation.
• Communicate with supervisors and escalate challenges.
• Maintain a safe healthful work environment.
