Job summary

Union Pacific Railroad is seeking Installation Technicians to climb and work on radio towers ranging 100 to 500 feet. You will install and maintain antenna/transmission systems and build telecom facilities including towers, generators, and buildings.

Learn to install major communications components in our network and join a team powered by people. Qualifications include 21+ with a valid license or CDL if required, and the ability to read prints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Qualifications

• Formal training equivalent to an associate's degree OR 2+ years of related electrical/electronics experience.
• CDL Class A or ability to obtain within probationary period.
• Must be 21+ with valid driver's license and acceptable MVR.
• Able to read and interpret prints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Read prints, schematics and technical manuals. Have basic understanding of AC & DC theory, Ohms Law, DC and AC charging and rectifying systems.
• Use a variety of test equipment and troubleshoot RF transceivers.
• Perform other duties as assigned and ensure safety, FRA compliance.
• Troubleshoot failures and restore service for RF transceivers.
