Job summary

SBANS SBA Network Services, LLC seeks a Tower Crew Lead to supervise and perform construction duties for expedited commercial deployment of services. You will supervise subcontractors and site personnel, plan resources, and ensure safety and quality across projects.

The role requires 5+ years in tower construction (or 2+ years with NWSA/TTT-1 and 1+ year in leadership) and strong reading of blueprints, test equipment, and fiber/PIM knowledge.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma/GED and 5+ years tower construction background.
  • Or 2+ years tower construction background with NWSA/TTT-1 Certification (both written and practical) and 1+ year leadership experience.
  • Must read blueprints, details, and specifications; knowledge of Test Equipment, Sweep, PIM & Fiber; certification in each; and knowledge of standard knots.
  • English language fluency.
  • Physical ability to climb to heights of up to 500 feet.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Domestic travel of 90% of the time; able to operate a CMV.
  • Valid government-issued driver’s license.
  • MDOT medical physical requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and perform construction duties and ensure quality for expedited deployment.
  • Inspect and approve subcontractor work and coordinate with authorities for inspections.
  • Plan and mobilize staff, materials, and subcontractors to meet schedules.
  • Keep Construction Supervisor informed of progress and deviations.
  • Identify materials and resources needed to complete the project.
  • Coordinate resources to meet construction schedules and schedules.
  • Oversee delivery and off-loading of towers, generators, and shelters.
  • Identify punch list items and ensure completion before customer inspection.
  • Close projects after final inspections and hand off to client.
  • Assign tasks, train crew members, and perform tower construction activities.
  • Interact professionally with client representatives and maintain safety practices.

Job description

Your Next Career Opportunity – Tower Crew Lead

Supervise and perform construction duties on a daily basis ensuring quality construction for expedited commercial deployment of services. Supervise subcontractors and job site personnel to complete scope of work assigned.

What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities
  • Inspect and approve all sub‑contractor's work.
  • Schedule and coordinate with all local authorities for required inspections.
  • Complete work in a timely and efficient manner by planning, prioritizing, and mobilizing staff, materials, and subcontractors to meet the progression schedule.
  • Ensure Construction Supervisor is apprised of construction progress, concerns, and deviations from plans or established schedule.
  • Identify all materials and other resources needed to complete the project.
  • Coordinate resources to meet construction schedules.
  • Coordinate delivery and off‑loading of towers, materials, generators, and shelters.
  • Identify construction "punch list" items to be remedied and ensure they are completed prior to the customer’s inspection.
  • Finalize all inspections to close the project.
  • Assign tasks to fellow crew members and perform civil or tower construction activities such as stacking towers, testing, positioning antennas, installing antennas, running coax, etc.
  • Ensure tasks assigned to crew are completed in a timely, quality manner.
  • Train and assist employees in completing tasks.
  • Professionally interact with client’s representatives.
  • Maintain and enforce all SBA and OSHA safety practices, perform daily jobsite safety inspections on equipment prior to operation, and immediately stop work when unsafe work practices or conditions exist.
  • Work overtime, including Saturdays, Sundays, and evening hours.
  • Complete all aspects of SBA’s Tower U training classes.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements

  • Or 2+ years tower construction background with NWSA/TTT‑1 Certification (both written and practical) and 1+ year leadership experience.
  • Must possess the ability to read blueprints, details, and specifications; knowledge of Test Equipment, Sweep, PIM & Fiber, and certification in each; and knowledge of standard knots.
  • English Language Fluency.
  • Physical ability to climb to heights of up to 500 feet.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Domestic travel of 90% of the time; able to operate a company vehicle at CMV level.
  • Valid government‑issued driver’s license.
  • Health services/driver’s license MDOT medical physical requirement.

  • Risk of electrical shock and radiation.
  • Work near mechanical parts.
  • May work in high, precarious places.
  • Very loud noise levels equivalent to earth‑moving equipment and jack hammers.
