Job summary

SBA Communications is seeking a Tower Crew Lead to supervise daily construction activities, coordinate with subcontractors, authorities, and project staff. You will ensure quality work, safety compliance, and timely progress on deployment projects across sites.

The role requires 5+ years in tower construction or 2+ years with NWSA/TTT-1 certification plus leadership experience; a valid driver's license and fluency in English are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 5+ years tower construction experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints, details and specifications.
  • Certification in Test Equipment, Sweep, PIM & Fiber (or equivalent).
  • 2+ years tower construction with NWSA/TTT-1 certification and 1+ year leadership (alternative).
  • English language proficiency required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 90%.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and approve subcontractor work and ensure quality construction.
  • Schedule inspections with local authorities; manage timelines and resources.
  • Coordinate with staff, subcontractors and client for progress and changes.
  • Identify materials and resources; ensure safety and compliance.
  • Maintain punch lists and finalize inspections to close projects.
  • Assign tasks, supervise crew members and train staff.
  • Ensure safety practices and training are followed; SBA U training completion.

Supervise subcontractors and job site personnel to complete scope of work assigned.What You Will Do – Primary ResponsibilitiesInspect and approve all sub-contractor's work.Schedule and coordinate with all local authorities for required inspections.Complete work in a timely and efficient manner by planning, prioritizing and mobilizing staff, materials and subcontractors to meet progression schedule.Ensure Construction Supervisor is apprised of construction progress, concerns and deviations from plans or established schedule.Identify all materials and other resources needed to complete project.Coordinate resources to meet construction schedules.Coordinate delivery and off-loading of towers, materials, generators and shelters.Identify construction "punch list" of items to be remedied and ensure they are completed prior to customer’s inspection.Finalize all inspections to close project.Assign tasks to fellow crew members and perform civil or tower construction activities such as (These preceding items are civil construction activities), stacking towers, testing, positioning antennas, installing antennas, running coax, etc.Ensure tasks assigned to crew are completed in timely, quality manner.Train and assist employees in completing tasks. Professionally interact with client’s representatives.May maintain and enforce all SBA and OSHA safety practices, perform daily jobsite safety inspections on equipment prior to operation. Immediately stops work when unsafe work practices or conditions exist.Must be able to work overtime to include Saturdays, Sundays and evening hours.Must be able to satisfactorily complete all aspects of SBA’s Tower U training classes.Other projects and duties as assigned.What You’ll Need – Qualifications & RequirementsH.S. Diploma/GEDand 5+ years tower construction background. Must possess ability to read blueprints, details and specifications, knowledge of Test Equipment, Sweep, PIM & Fiber, and Certification in each, and knowledge of standard knots.or 2+ years tower construction background and NWSA/TTT-1 Certification, both written and practical.and 1+ years of leadership experience.English Language Fluency Required.Must possess the physical ability to climb to heights of up to 500 feet.Demonstrated knowledge and intermediate proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.Domestic Travel 90% of the time and able to operate a company vehicle at the CMV level.Valid Government Issued Driver's LicenseHealth Services\Drivers License - MDOT Medical Physical ReqPhysical Demands and Working ConditionsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
