Job summary

Leidos in Poulsbo, WA is seeking a Towed Systems IMA technician to support the U.S. Navy's towed acoustic systems on submarines and surface ships, including field testing, installation, and repair. The role involves pier-side work, occasional overtime, and travel on short notice.

You will train on the job, potentially qualify as Pier-Side Supervisor, and must be able to obtain a Secret clearance and a U.S. passport.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited technical institute or apprentice program in electronics above the high school level or successful completion of a military electronics course equivalent to U.S. Navy "C" school and at least two years’ experience in the test and repair of electronic/electrical equipment.
  • Experience in the use of electronic test equipment and operation of various handheld power tools.
  • Must obtain a minimum of an interim Secret prior to commencement of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct towed array module physical inspection, electrical testing, troubleshooting, array assembly and shipboard installation and removal of towed bodies pier-side or in a warehouse environment.
  • Travel overseas and within CONUS on short notice may be required.
  • Interact with Navy, Government and civilian support contractors; potential advancement to Pier-Side Supervisor.
  • Capable of performing routine assigned work with minimum supervision.
