Job summary

Leidos in San Diego, CA, seeks a skilled technician to support the Towed System Intermediate Maintenance Activity (TS IMA). You will inspect, test, and repair towed array modules, assemble or remove towed bodies pier-side, and travel overseas on short notice to assist Navy operations.

A DoD Secret clearance is required or attainable, with forklift and tools experience essential. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and readiness, providing 24/7/365 support as part of Leidos’ fleet

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited technical institute or an electronics apprenticeship, or Navy equivalent to C school.
  • At least two years’ experience testing and repairing electronic/electrical equipment.
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment and various handheld power tools.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance and U.S. Passport.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical inspection, electrical testing, and troubleshooting of towed array modules.
  • Assemble and install or remove towed bodies pier-side and in all weather environments.
  • Travel overseas and within the continental United States on short notice.
  • Perform overtime to meet Navy schedules and support surge work at other TS IMA sites.
  • Operate company trucks, cranes, forklifts, and hand tools as required.
  • Interact with Navy personnel, government staff, and civilian contractors.
