Job summary

Cox Automotive - USA is seeking a Tow Truck Driver I to provide towing and basic mechanical support on Auction property, complying with safety rules. Responsibilities include operating a tow truck, loading/unloading, and assisting customers with towing and jump-starts.

DOT certification is required; HS diploma and valid driver's license are required. The role is on-site with day shifts and potential overtime; base pay ranges hourly with additional incentives possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• OSHA forklift/heavy equipment certification preferred or required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tow truck to provide tow service to vehicles on-site; DOT certification required.
• Load/unload using boom lift and move vehicles for auction.
• Secure loads to prevent damage; ensure safe, immobile vehicles after towing.
• Haul vehicles to designated areas in a safe, courteous manner.
• Scan towed vehicles with TC75 to delivery location.
• Assist with towing, jump-starts, unlocking vehicles as needed.
• May assist Lot Vision tasks and unlocks when required.
• Tow vehicles to Mechanic shop as requested.
• Remove improperly parked or unsafe vehicles from lots.
• Perform routine maintenance on tow truck and front-end loader.
• Operate trucks in compliance with safety regulations; support sale day activities.
• Adhere to safety procedures and participate in safety programs.
• Run reports to move vehicles to sale TRA area.
• Other duties as assigned; overtime may be required.
