Job summary

The City of Aiken is seeking a Tourism Program Supervisor to lead the Tourism Division within the Parks, Recreation, & Tourism Department. You will supervise staff, manage marketing efforts, coordinate facility operations, and develop tourism programs aligned with community and visitor needs.

The role emphasizes safety, partnerships, and data‑driven planning. You will oversee coordinators, work with maintenance staff, and ensure accurate records, reporting, and compliance with CAPRA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of supervisory experience in tourism.
• Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing.
• Must obtain First Aid, CPR, AED and DDC-8 within six months.
• NRPA certification preferred within one year of employment.
• Strong communication, reporting and budgeting abilities.
• Experience with automated registration and membership systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage advertising and marketing efforts for the agency as a tourist destination.
• Manage facility operations including staff and scheduling, program registration systems, front-desk operations and safety processes.
• Develop direction for tourism products, programs and services based on community and visitor needs.
• Supervise program coordinators who oversee tourism products, programs and services.
• Coordinate parks and facility scheduling and ensure safety and security of participants and staff.
• Maintain manuals, train staff in operations, customer service, safety and cash handling.
• Analyze marketing materials inventory and facility usage data for planning and evaluation.
• Develop and monitor KPIs to gauge operations efficiency and effectiveness.
