Job summary

Texas Downtown seeks a seasoned professional to lead Rockwall's Convention and Visitors Bureau and Main Street program. You will drive marketing plans, coordinate with hotels and attractions, and manage volunteers and budgets to grow downtown business and tourism.

You will liaise with planners, attend events, and report on outcomes while ensuring reliable operations and stakeholder satisfaction. This role requires travel and onsite leadership in Rockwall, Texas.

Qualifications

• Experience developing marketing programs for downtown or tourism initiatives.
• Ability to prepare meetings, agendas, minutes, and program reports.
• Strong liaison skills with planners and hospitality industry players.
• Proven record recruiting and managing volunteers for events.
• Willingness to travel overnight and attend events outside regular hours.

Responsibilities

• Develops and facilitates marketing strategies and plans to promote Rockwall as a premier destination.
• Develops goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for related programs and reporting.
• Liaises with planners, hotels, restaurants, and attractions to coordinate conventions and events.
• Participates in professional groups and attends events; travel as needed, including evenings/weekends.
• Manages administrative duties of the CVB and Main Street Program, including budgeting and recordkeeping.
• Prepares and presents written and oral reports on program activities and services.
• Responds to citizen/vendor inquiries and resolves issues.
• Maintains punctuality, schedule adherence, and attendance with any required overtime.
