Job summary

City of Rockwall seeks a dynamic leader to direct the daily operations of the Convention and Visitors Bureau, elevating the city's image as a premier tourism destination. You will craft marketing strategies, manage the Main Street Program, recruit downtown businesses, and coordinate with hotels, planners, and the business community to promote Rockwall.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years in convention, visitors, hospitality, or tourism.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develops marketing strategies and annual plans to promote Rockwall as a premier destination.
• Oversees Main Street Program operations and related budgeting.
• Coordinates with meeting planners, hotels, restaurants, and local businesses.
• Recruitment and management of downtown volunteers and associations.
• Prepare written and oral reports for city leadership.
• Represent CVB at groups, conferences, and events; travel as needed (evenings/weekends).
• Respond to citizen/vendor inquiries and maintain professional relationships.
