Job summary

The Jackson County TDC is seeking an Executive Director to oversee administration, marketing, public relations, operations, and the Visitor Center. You will develop the budget, implement the marketing plan, staff the center, act as spokesperson, and coordinate with VISIT FLORIDA and local partners to attract visitors.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field with 3+ years in tourism promotions or event management; supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 3+ years in tourism promotions or events, supervisory experience preferred
• Florida driver’s license prior to employment
• Exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to lead and influence
• Strong organizational and project management abilities
• Experience coordinating with tourism agencies and media partners

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit annual operating budget and business plan
• Develop and implement marketing, advertising, and PR plans to attract traffic
• Manage day-to-day operations of the TDC and visitor center
• Respond to tourist inquiries to ensure high-quality experiences
• Administer grant applications and contracts for TDC
• Act as secretary to TDC and liaise with local government
• Coordinate with VISIT FLORIDA and other TDCs
• Ensure compliance with Florida statutes and policies
• Build relationships with local hotels, CVBs, and civic groups
• Oversee event funding and regional collaboration
• Maintain visitor information materials and logging of inquiries
