Description

The National WWII Museum is currently seeking a part-time Tour Guide. Reporting to the Visitor Engagement Specialist, the Tour Guide provides a welcoming, hospitable environment and a rewarding learning experience through guided tours of the Museum’s permanent exhibits.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct scheduled tours of the Museum’s permanent exhibits, approximately 2 hours long, for visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
2. Welcome, check-in, and brief visitors on tour regulations and safety practices at the start of each tour.
3. Stay current with exhibit content and museum operations.
4. Learn and utilize appropriate tour scripts and attend training sessions to deliver accurate and engaging tours.
5. Collaborate with the Specialty Sales department for scheduled and private tours.

Qualifications

1. Associate’s degree or relevant experience, with an interest in history and informal education.
2. At least two years of related work experience, especially in education, presentations, or tours.
3. Outgoing personality with public speaking skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
4. Punctuality, reliability, and willingness to learn new technologies.
5. Ability to guide tours across a large campus, standing and walking for 60-120 minutes.
6. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
7. Availability to work weekends and between 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM.
