Nestled at the corner of Canal Street and Magazine Street, and less than 350 yards from the original Sazerac Coffee House, The Sazerac House will be New Orleans’ most memorable destination offering an enriching sensory experience that embodies the city’s spirited and historic character.

The Sazerac House will take its visitors through a journey of the history and culture of spirits in New Orleans showcasing the company’s brands relevant to the city of yesterday and today.

The part-time Experience Ambassador is responsible for creating a welcoming, entertaining and educational atmosphere for all visitors of the Sazerac House and internal customers. This person provides exceptional customer service and is recognized as an advocate of the Sazerac House featured brands and spirited experience.

Job Description/Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

1. Ensures exceptional customer service is provided to all Sazerac House visitors. Creates a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. Is attentive and available to assist visitors. Follows up and follows through on visitor inquiries. Anticipates visitor needs. Thanks visitors and extends an offer to return. Is knowledgeable about featured products, gift shop merchandise, and special events. Makes suggestions to management to enhance tours and expand sales opportunities.
2. Anticipates traffic flow and ensures adequate inventory of sampling tools to provide proper samples per day. Provides information and entertainment to create engaging experiences for visitors. Strives to improve tours and sampling stations continually. Acts as an advocate for The Sazerac House in the local community. Ensures adherence to safety, food safety, quality, and environmental policies.
3. Monitors exhibit floor crowd flow and ensures visitors feel welcome and safe. Keeps sampling stations stocked, processes orders for supplies and liquor daily, and oversees sample execution. Attentive to visitor comments and questions. Assists in training new staff and maintaining organized storage rooms.
4. Keeps exhibit floors and sampling stations organized, stocked, and clean. Recommends merchandise improvements based on visitor feedback.
5. Develops a personal growth plan with management to enhance skills and performance.
6. Collaborates with team members to generate revenue and positive visitor experiences.
7. Maintains inventory of liquor, sampling tools, and supplies; reorders as needed. Participates in VIP and group visitor programs.

Qualifications/Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in roles such as bartender, educator, tour guide, front of house staff, historian, concierge, or brand ambassador
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends
• Ability to multitask effectively
• Professional and approachable demeanor
• Minimum age of 21
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

PREFERRED

• Bachelor's Degree
• 2 years experience in the wine and spirits or hospitality industry
• Experience dealing with VIP guests for 1 year
