Job summary

Unigen Corporation in Newark, CA is seeking a Touch-up Rework Operator (Day) to support SMT and through-hole rework tasks. You will hand solder, inspect, and rework components to IPC-610 and MPI standards, reporting to the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities include soldering, cleaning, and component installation, following ECOs and process deviations, and collaborating with the team to ensure quality and on-time output in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of practical manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of ESD, board handling, and safety practices including personal protective equipment
• Knowledge of components and their polarity, including resistors and capacitors
• Knowledge of IPC-610 and J-STD-001 soldering standards
• Knowledge of latest revision-class 3 workmanship criteria is a plus

Responsibilities

• Hand solder & touch-up rework for SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and through-hole components and jumper wire
• Remove/install components as per IPC‑A‑610
• Touch up solder joints & trim leads
• Clean PCBs, clean workpieces using chemical solutions, files, wire brush
• Perform rework based on the ECO, Process Deviation, and MPI instruction using solder/flux (leaded/RoHS clean or no clean)
• Install and hand solder all 2nd ops and SMT parts/components as required per MPI, deviation, and unique rework processes
• Execute written/verbal instructions given by supervisor and monitor efficiency and quality of tasks
• Check and inspect task results against predetermined standards
• Communicate issues found during hand soldering to the Production Leader
• Provide team support
• Demonstrate work methods to new hires
• Share best practices, assist in minor troubleshooting
• Actively participate in cross-training

Job Overview

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Hand solder & touch-up rework for SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and through-hole components and jumper wire

• Install and hand solder all 2nd ops and SMT parts/components as required per MPI, deviation, and unique rework processes

• Check and inspect task results against predetermined standards
