Job summary

Figeac Aero North America in Wichita, KS seeks a Touch Up Painter for the 2nd shift to apply primers and topcoats per Mil specs on aerospace parts.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ year of painting experience, attention to detail, and the ability to follow precise instructions. Competitive pay includes a $0.75 shift differential and benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• 1+ year experience with primer, fuel cell and top coat.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing environment preferred.
• Self-motivated and produce quality work.
• Dependable, team-oriented, good communication skills.
• Excellent attendance and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly follow instructions and be attentive to details.
• Touch up primers and top coats to Mil specs on multiple surface types.
• Mask and de-mask parts as required.
• Prep parts prior to painting including masking, sanding, and cleaning.
• Complete work flow documentation thoroughly and properly.
• Inspect results of paint applied.
• Final Inspection responsibilities training.
• Clean and repair paint equipment and keep work area organized.
• Wear PPE and follow safety procedures at all times.
• Keep work area clean.
• Assist other departments as necessary.

Job Title:Touch Up Painter (2nd Shift)

Shift Hours:

2nd Shift Monday to Friday 2:00pm to 10:30 pm

Pay Rate:$17.00 - $19.00, dependent upon relative experience

Shift Differential: $0.75 /hr in addition to hourly rate

Experience:1+ year experience preferred with application of primer, fuel cell and topcoat

Job Duties:

• Must be able to thoroughly follow instructions and be attentive to details
• Touch up primers and top coats to Mil specs on multiple surface types
• Mask and de-mask parts as required
• Prep parts prior to painting including masking, sanding, and cleaning
• Complete work flow documentation thoroughly and properly
• Inspect results of paint applied
• Inspection: Knowledge of the expected response and appearance of the material being painted
• Final Inspection: Will be trained for Final Inspection responsibilities
• Clean and repair paint equipment and keep work area organized
• Wear proper safety equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures at all times
• Keep work area clean
• Assist other departments as necessary

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must have 1+ year experience with application of primer, fuel cell and top coat, preferred
• Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing environment, preferred
• Must be self-motivated and produce quality work
• Dependable, team-oriented, and good communication skills
• Must be self-motivated and produce quality work
• Excellent attendance and positive attitude is required
• Team player and willing to learn new skills

Working Conditions:

• Some overtime may be required
• Ability to regularly and frequently lift 25 pounds
• Will be exposed to constant activity that requires intermittent standing, bending, crouching, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, moving, carrying light and heavy loads, and climbing stairs and ladders. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate small power tools and other equipment
