Job summary

Maryville College is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to manage bi-weekly payroll, benefits programs, and compliance across campus. This role collaborates with Finance, HR, and external vendors to ensure accurate processing and timely reporting while maintaining confidentiality and strong customer service.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least three years of payroll/benefits experience, with preference for Paycom and higher education exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of payroll and benefits administration experience.
• Experience processing payroll and administering benefits in an HRIS environment (Paycom preferred).
• Experience administering retirement programs, leave administration, payroll tax reporting, or payroll compliance preferred.
• Experience in higher education, nonprofit organizations, or similarly complex organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead bi-weekly payroll processing for employees and student workers.
• Administer employee benefits programs and open enrollment activities.
• Maintain payroll and benefits records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Reconcile vendor invoices, retirement contributions, and payroll deductions.
• Provide guidance and training on payroll procedures to employees and supervisors.
• Collaborate with Finance and external vendors to resolve payroll and benefits issues.
