RWJBarnabas Health in New Jersey is seeking an HR Specialist to join the Total Rewards team as a Benefits Specialist. You will support employee benefits programs, oversee vendor relationships, and ensure compliant and cost-effective plans for staff and their families.

This salaried role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in employee benefits, with ERISA knowledge and strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Three or more years experience in an employee benefits role that includes vendor management, employee issue resolution, and operational responsibilities.
• Knowledge of employee benefits-related laws and regulations including ERISA.
• Proven proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with employees and vendors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Interacts daily with vendors and internal partners to manage benefit plans and related operational processes (invoices, communications, file feeds, compliance, issue resolution).
• Responds to employee or HRBP inquiries regarding enrollment questions, authorizations, and paycheck deductions; escalates complex issues for guidance.
• Supports implementation of new benefit vendors including file interfaces, communications, compliance, and reporting.
• Maintains confidentiality throughout interactions with employees and vendors.
• Remains current with employee benefits laws and ERISA.
